'New Year, New Me' (resolutions edition)
Well, as every year ends you feel grateful for the goals you've achieved over the past year and also simultaneously waiting for the new year to begin. There's this quote trending over social media that says 'new year, new me'. A pretty amazing quote isn't it? Well.
Everyone marks new beginnings with the help of resolutions.
So what is this resolution? Resolutions are promises or goals made with oneself to achieve them over the year. It can be anything for instance drinking more water, digital detox, spending more time with fam, literally anything.
We are packed with this immense level of motivation inside us as we create New Year's Resolutions but lose track of it as days, and months pass by. You may wonder about the cause of it and feel why this happens.
Well, it can be due to several reasons but one of the mediocre ones is failure to fulfil due to lack of time, resources, or motivation, or a loss of zeal after starting. Only about 16 per cent of people can follow their resolutions, according to research. The majority of them often give up within one or four weeks of trying, and many of these resolutions are repeated year after year.
So what can be done about it?
Well, in my opinion,
- set goals -that are realistic and can be achieved.
- track your progress- review
- one at a time- choose goals that resonate with you so that you'll most likely stick to them.
